He gave the chocolate a shot. |
The "grass" is a great texture to explore with little bare feet. |
- small stuffed animals
- baby food
- meltable foods for eaters like Tom. (like hull less cheese puffs.)
- small rattles, shakers or whistles
- bouncy balls or texture balls
- a Braille book :)
- any small musical toy
- play dough (very good for strengthening fingers for Braille)
Not a fan of the marshmallow owl... :( |
You can find Hide Em & Find Em Electronic Easter Eggs at KMart, Rite Aid, Target, Walgreens and Learning Express. These eggs say "Yoo hoo,"and "I'm over here," and other phrases for thirty minutes. When the child finds the egg and opens it up, the egg says, "Surprise, you found me!" There is also room to add a little candy to the egg.
These talking eggs were a huge hit last year and will probably go fast so buy some if you see them. I am going to try to track some down this weekend so that Thomas can have an Easter Egg hunt for the very first time this year. Now I just have to hope that the weather cooperates and allows us to have an outdoor egg hunt. You never know what the weather will be like at Easter time in Western Pennsylvania.
And these eggs could be a very cool toy to get Thomas to use his cane. He hasn't been outside much at all other than to walk to the car since it's winter. I have been thinking about cane training outside and egg hunts might be a good motivator for working on his cane skills.
Now to find those eggs!
How cool about the eggs! I need some of those!
