Happy Birthday indeed!

Sometimes I let it bother me that Tom talks so little. There are things he says perfectly and then never says again. He is just a mystery to me. Especially since I know he understands EVERYTHING we say to him.

I'll never understand why he seems to choose to be silent. He often signs words instead of using words he has but I don't mind because I'm so excited to communicate with him instead of guessing.

Well tonight he gave me a wonderful birthday present. Take a look.

    I have 3 boys on the autism spectrum. My most severely autistic boy is unreliably verbal. I say that he is like a radio, and sometimes the static from his mind and body is too strong for him to communicate.
