Four Holiday Themed Braille Books for $20.00 at Beulah Reimer Legacy!
Learning about Trick or Treat last year. |
Storybooks are a great way to introduce concepts like holidays. A story helps bring information to life and can be enjoyed year after year. Since Tom can't see holiday decorations go up around town we have to make sure to bring these things to his attention. He has to feel the leaves on the ground and cruch them under his feet to understand this is happening all over our area and not just in our own yard.
I'm not afraid to take him into the neighbor's yard to feel christmas decorations or feel the warm glow from a lit pumpkin. Most people are very kind if you explain why your child would like to touch their decorations. It's best to ask first, of course!
There are so many lessons in everyday things. Sometimes I have to remind myself to slow down and help Tom notice the world going on around us.
