Thankful for every holiday we celebrate! |
I am thankful that Halloween was a great experience for Tommy this year. We have missed some holidays and family celebrations due to surgeries or illness over the years.
Every time we are able to participate in a holiday or event with a healthy child I am grateful! No more lugging a feeding pump and bag of supplies to events, or scheduling them around Tom's feeding schedule. Things are so much easier now and I appreciate it! To see him enjoy holiday food is a thrill to our entire family. When you are used to your child being 100% tube fed this feels like a miracle.
Learning more each day! |
I am excited to see the changes in Tom after his first year of school. We are just about five weeks into his preschool experience and I see many changes in Tommy already. His progress reports tell me he is a circle time pro! He sings along to every song and dances. He is a participator! I keep noticing small things that tell me he is more a little boy and less a baby every day.
I think most people get misty eyed for the baby days at this point but Tom has such a snuggly nature that I really don't. He still lets me hold him and he gives great big kisses and hugs.
#3 Inspired
Tom inspires me every day with his incredible love of life and fun loving nature. This kid takes everything in stride. But I'm not going to go for the obvious inspiration today. Instead I'm going to let you in one some more personal plans.
Right now I am inspired to work hard for my family. I recently went back to work after being home with Tommy for his first three years. We have plans to buy a new house that would be better suited to a blind child; one with bigger rooms and a more open floor plan. Ideally we hope to find a split level or ranch with most of the living space on one floor. It's fun to dream!
I am hoping for a quiet street with sidewalks that will allow him to practice with his cane. We live on a very busy street. I can't wait to trade in our yard, with it's very own ravine, for a fenced yard we could let Tom run loose in! So yeah, I am currently inspired to work and save to make our family dreams come true!
good luck with the house hunt!
