What's so good, Tommy?

A green smoothie! That's right. That silly pumpkin is filled with spinach, yogurt, and fruit. If Tom could see, he might refuse to eat it. Sure, it looks a little bit intimidating, but the brave are rewarded with a delicious treat.

Yum!
Not long ago, we got a Blendtec blender. This blending monster can take just about anything and blend it into a consistency that can go through Tom's g-tube. It is a blessing!

You don't know how many healthy and high-calorie smoothies and concoctions I have whipped up, only to be unable to even push them into his tube with a syringe. Now just a couple runs through the Blendtec and I can report a 100% success rate. Even more amazing is seeing Tom enjoy DRINKING a smoothie. That's almost too amazing to me!

Crazy hair!
So what's in Tom's green smoothie? I thought you'd never ask!

Tom's Green Smoothie

  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 2 oz. soy milk (or almond or rice....) Tom has a problem with cow milk.
  • 4 oz. vanilla yogurt
  • 4 medium frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango
  • 1/2 cup frozen peaches
  • 1 banana (very ripe is best)
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
This smoothie is awesome. I dare you not to like it!

Good stuff!
