The Butterfly

See the butterfly on Tom's arm? One of the last school trips was down to the Children's Festival at Schenley Plaza in Oakland, near their school. His teacher, their aides and therapists took the kids down together to experience the fun. All the kids got to choose between five different options for their face or arm painting. A butterfly was not among the choices given...

You see, earlier that day they sang a song about butterflies in class and it must have stuck with Tom. When they asked him what he wanted painted on his arm he said a butterfly. That's my little independent thinker!

After they enjoyed the festival they took off their shoes on the lawn of the Cathedral of Learning on Pitt Campus and ran around the soft grass. Not a bad day at preschool.
