Thank you for making us Pittsburgh's Most Valuable Health, Medical or Fitness Blog!

It was a shock to us when Tom was diagnosed at birth and the information we got from the medical community was difficult to digest. The information I found online was not much better. As I have said before, blindness is a very low incidence disability and even more rare for children.

I started this site to put out positive information for families dealing with a diagnosis of blindness or vision impairment. Through this blog I share our medical journey and our everyday disasters and triumphs. I want everyone to know that blind kids do everything that other kids do, but sometimes they do it a little differently.

I want the people that we meet to say, "Wow, what a cool little boy, not "Oh, poor thing he's blind." Because believe me, blindness is not slowing Thomas down!
