Front door as light box?

A skeleton at the door!
Yes. You can use your front door as a light box. Tom loves to look out the front door. He is going to be so sad when it's too cold to only use the screen door and we have to shut the main door. Until then we can have some fun!

If you have a light box and have used plastic gel mats on them this is the same idea.

Here's what you need.

  • A window on a sunny day.
  • sandwich bags
  • colorful paints (non-toxic - I used cheap fabric paints I already had)
  • tape
  • cooking oil (optional)
Squirt some bright (non-toxic) paints into sandwich bags and add a little cooking oil to help it move around in the bag. Seal up the bags and then tape them to a bright window. Then your child can  have fun squishing the paint around the bags with their fingers.

You can see a braille label for window above the bag with red paint!

The paint really looks beautiful in the bright light and it's a cheap and quick activity. I had all the supplies already. Give it a try!
