What's going on at WPSBC?

I was just checking out my local school for the blind, the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children, and I found some great opportunities to share with you.
Here is Tom banging on the giant drum with his Playgroup Pals last summer.
Playgroup is Back!
Tom has participated in several playgroups at WPSBC. They make sure that every child can participate in the play group activity, regardless of their abilities. The playgroup is held in their amazing Early Childhood building on the WPSBC campus. It is a great opportunity to check the school out and take advantage of their expert advice and guidance.

You should also check out the TODDLER Program for your little one. This is a great place to start when you have a young child that is blind or VI. It's an early intervention outreach program for Pennsylvania families that will evaluate your child and then make recommendations and offer appropriate consults and support.

To enroll in PALS (Play, Learn, Achieve, Socialize) Play Group contact Beth Ramella, Outreach Director at 412-621-0100 x 379 or ramellab@wpsbc.org

Expanding Visions Camp
Expanding Visions is a week long, overnight camp for Teens who are blind or visually impaired, ages 14-16. This is co-sponsored by Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh. I can't believe it's only $50 per camper. What an opportunity for blind/low vision teens! Click here for more information.
